Stay away! This office takes advantage of - and actively rips off - elderly patients. Please read the whole thing! I'm not a patient, but my mother was. She woke up on Saturday morning with a severe toothache and called Dr. Santamarina's office. The office was closed and the recording told her to call the emergency number. That number then went unanswered and bounced to a full voicemail box, so she was unable to leave a message. We called the regular office number again and left a voicemail there. They never answered. We had to wait until they opened Tuesday morning just so they would answer the phone and give her an appointment. In the meantime, I had to take my mom to an urgent care for antibiotics and painkillers. After finally arriving for her appointment, my mom tapped repeatedly on the receptionist's window and was ignored for several minutes while they finished their conversation on the other side. No, "we'll be right with you" or any acknowledgement that she was even there, although they could clearly see and hear us. From what I've seen, nothing about this dental practice puts patients first. Their days off and personal conversations are their priority. And if a 79-year-old patient needs them for an emergency, she's on her own. So they finally call her in and start working on her tooth, but no one (not the receptionist, not the nurse, not even the doctor) tell her exactly what is being done. As it turns out, they were doing a root canal. That procedure is not covered by her insurance plan, but no one told her until she was getting ready to leave. Only after, did they tell her it would be $500, entirely out-of-pocket. My mother is a 79-yr-old widow living on Social Security. If anyone had hinted that she would have to part with $500 today, she would never have agreed to that root canal. She may have asked for a second opinion, looked for payment plans, etc. But she was never given that choice. They demanded at least $250 before letting her leave. And when I confronted them about it, they cynically told me it was her responsibility to know what procedures her insurance does or does not cover. Any other dentist or doctor would first tell you what they were planning to do and whether it is covered by your plan. And if it isn't, they ask you to sign a form accepting responsibility for payment BEFORE you get treatment. My mother was never given that option. I called the insurance company and let them know about the shake-down and they were outraged. An investigation has been opened and I will push for this provider to be removed from the plan. They are shameless crooks who prey on elderly people when they are most vulnerable. I've already found her a new dentist. You should do the same..
The best dental experience I’ve had in Miami. Too many of my past dentists have treated me like just another number, while Dr. Monterrey treated me with respect from the beginning. No pressuring into an expensive treatment plan or something I don’t need. Quite simply, excellent treatment, care, and staff!.
No doubt one of the best Orthodontic doctors! I was one of his patients as a child and my step kid is now one of his patients! Absolutely beautiful work. Not to mention the ambiance of his staff makes you feel welcomed and always informing you of every step. Totally recommend Dr.Haber as your orthodontic!.
This is an extremely well-organized, efficient, professional, complete, patient-centered dental practice, from office staff to dental techs/hygienists to doctors. Dr. Muro should teach a course in dental/medical school on how to run a dental or medical practice!.
I had a great experience at Midtown Dental. It had been a long time since I've been to the dentist. I visited Dr. Nelson last year for a deep clean and yesterday, July 31, 2014 I went to get my wisdom tooth extracted. Thinking that it was going to be worse than it was, I walked into the office nervous. But, the staff were great and talked me out my nervousness and after 20 minutes the procedure was done. I will definitely recommend them to friends..
First experience was generally good. They were running behind so it took almost 2 hours to clean my teeth. I'm also going to consider a second option on the replacement of some fillings. Staff was super friendly. I am also a little anxious that they don't offer any sort of laughing gas or sedation for dental work. May not have my work done there because of it.
