Dr. Kirby Buzard/Kavanaugh is very good at marketing--if that is what you want. Her office and clinic rooms are decorated like a beach. You can get your photo with Santa in her office, you get birthday greetings from her office, free pens and doodads, and there is even a campaign to "get to know" everyone in her staff. If that is what you want--fine Personally, I prefer good dental care. When I moved to Boston after leaving KC, I sought care at the Harvard Dental School Faculty practice. My new dentist there, on the Harvard faculty, wanted to know where I had gotten a specific crown she pointed to in my mouth. The answer was Dr. Kirby at Zona Rosa Dental. It was only a year old, but my new dentist thought that it was faulty enough to require immediate replacement. I should mention that my new dentist at Harvard Dental school is a salaried employee and receives no personal gain in replacing my crown. She is just a mature, humble professional with standards. 5 years later, 5 years after leaving Kansas City, I am still getting emails from Zona Rosa Dental telling me I can participate in their Halloween, or Santa photos whatever nonsense they are now up to. Even though I have asked for it to be stopped. I would recommend that if you need your social needs met by your dental office, and you need free pens --go to Zona Rosa Dental. But, if you'd like professional dental care--that is a concept is too foreign at Zona Rosa Dental--and you would be best served by going elsewhere..

Goetze Dental repair service is not cheap. You would expect quality work if they are asking for their share of money in return. A simple service call is $175 but that doesn’t even begin to tell the story. Labor is a nice $200/hr. When they send out 3 different people on separate days to interrupt your dental service to repair the same thing it gets ridiculous. Replacing different parts of equipment until they find the problem which was what you thought it was when you called them initially. Terrible and to top it off they continue to charge $10 fuel surcharge. Im afraid their product supply is falling ill to the same add on charges as well. May I suggest other companies like Darby for products and or Patterson for Repair and products even if your location is in the Kansas City area like mine. If I had a patient that had a tooth bothering them and I placed a filling and it didn’t fix the issue well im not going to charge them just to look at it the next visit and then not apply what they paid for the filling toward the crown if that’s what it ends up needing. Guess if I ran my business like they do I wouldn’t care about the extra charges they stick me with. Guess the family owned business is not in touch with reality or simply getting too big for the average solo dentist. FYI: Look around you can get more for your money!.

When we first started going there, we specifically asked to be notified of anything that was not 100% covered by our insurance. Regardless of what's recommended, it should be OUR choice to say "yay or nay" to any treatment or x-ray that isn't covered by insurance. They are the ones familiar with codes, procedures, x-rays recommendations (which vary on an yearly basis) and THEY check coverage two days before the appointment. If you don't like surprise bills that you didn't foresee coming (because you went in for a regular check up and were notified of nothing else), this is NOT the office for you. I like to trust where I go, and that includes not just the quality of services performed, but also the billing department and communication with clients..
