I assume this is the same Jessica Gual DDS that is operating at 4555 Investment Drive in Troy, MI. If so, avoid becoming a patient of hers. Never in a million years would I have guessed that I would ever have to write a negative review about a dentist. Usually, they are some of the friendliest most professional people you will encounter. The opposite holds true for Dr. Jessica Gaul. I was referred to her office by 1-800-DENTIST. I was told that a new patient cleaning and X-ray would cost $107. I was fine with that and eager to have a new dentist after moving to the area. I went in for the cleaning, which was fine. However, when I went to pay I was quoted over $300-dollars. Now, the cost doesn't difference didn't bother me as much as the complete lack of professionalism at this office. I had my cleaning, and since my gums were irritated the dental hygienist thought it would be good to break it into two separate cleanings. I was fine with that. However, Dr. Gaul never came in to introduce herself to me, she never came in to second what the dental hygienist recommended, and she never came in to discuss my x-rays (answer whether or not I have cavities, etc.). So, after being told my visit would be $107 dollars and now paying over $300 and being told to come back again, I was miffed that I hadn't even met the dentist. Does she not value patients enough to introduce herself, much less look at my mouth and see what's going on? Very unprofessional. Too many dentists out there to waste your time with this one. Note: There were no reviews written on Dr. Jessica Gaul until I posted my negative one, then all of the sudden, there are a string of positive reviews all within a few days of mine, and none since. I would take the positive reviews with a grain of salt; clearly Dr. Gaul's employees and friends have been busy..
I was a little apprehensive because Dr. Jessica came in after my dentist of many years left this office and for me it's always hard to make a switch from anything I have a comfort level with, especially a dentist! but I have to say I was very pleasnatly surprised. I was overdue for my dental cleaning and was worried I would get yelled at but the entire office was so nice to me. My tooth had been hurting so that's what prompted me to call for an appointment. I was sure I would need some "nerve treatment" or something and was expecting the worst. Dr. Jessica told me I only needed a small filling to fix the pain and she was right. She was gentle, explained everything to me and honest. Thanks Dr. Jessica..
