**Update: I have now discovered the the dentist made a hole in the gum of the tooth next to the one she attempted to extract. This hole is exposing the root of that tooth and causing a lot of pain. I have also discovered that the office forged my signature on the consent document. I asked to see the original as I know I did not sign that document. They claim that they routinely shred originals and they no longer have my original signature. I have been here twice and I would advise anyone thinking of visiting this office to look elsewhere. The first visit left me feeling wary as she had done a filling that she left with very little room for floss. I still have a tough time flossing there. But she takes my insurance so I gave it another try. I have had a nightmare this second time. I went in for an extraction. From everything the dentist told me it was a simple procedure. She did xrays and didn't say that there would be a problem getting the tooth. The process was terrible. She struggled for 2.5 hours trying to get the tooth out. Her tool slipped several times and I think caused more damage to my gum. After this she took a break to go work on another patient and I went to the restroom. I looked in the mirror and was SHOCKED to see that she cut a incision in my gum and a large piece was just hanging. I went back and told her that I was very unhappy about this and she just said it was a surgical cut. Not only was I never told this would happen, I never even signed any consent form about this procedure! No information on what she was going to do...nothing. She asked if I wanted her to keep going. I said no way. I am not upset she couldn't get the tooth out. I am upset she didn't know about the complications after examining the tooth and xrays. Everything I have read since says that this kind of impacted tooth needs surgery. Why didn't she know this? On top of this, her staff seems very new. She corrected one of the girls several times about how to hold the suction, etc. At one time, both girls left and the dentist was alone, doing both jobs. And fumbling terribly. This dentist does not seem to understand her lack of experience and skill and will attempt procedures she has no right attempting. This, in my opinion, makes her dangerous. She all but pushed me out the door, offering no literature for after care or anything. I had to ask for all of this when checking out and the girls at the desk didn't even know what I was talking about. They had to make a copy of something to give to me. Who does that kind of procedure and offer no after care advice? Again, no consent form was signed and I never agreed to this. I will pursue this further. But again, find another dentist.... This place is CRIMINAL.
Dr. McEntire is a great dentist! I used to have a real fear of dentists. Just sitting in a dentist chair used to get me really nervous! Dr. McEntire and his staff changed that! My fear caused me to neglect my teeth so I needed a lot of dental work. Fillings, crowns and even some extractions - no fear! Dr. McEntire is the best!.
I guess you could say Dr. McEntire is average. Sometimes his work was satisfactory, twice it was not..
