I have had many root canals throughout my life. Dr. Mark Shallal-Ayzin was by far the most competent Endodontist I have encountered. For being a young doctor he possesses the skill and confidence of a doctor twice his age. Thanks to Dr. Mark for the painless remedy to difficult procedure..
While he did seem to do a great job taking out my wisdom teeth, he was horrible in handling the complications afterwards. He did not explain what any of the complications were in great detail, did not seem to care what I went through, and was just trying to push me in and out as soon as possible. But for the record, I learned from google and my own common sense that I got a dry socket on my left side. Meanwhile I I knew to complain to him that I got an infection on my right side that caused my lymph nodes to swell, and neck and ear to become sore. He did give me stronger antibiotics which I guess somewhat worked, but it came back after the full dosage. So in being a college student and taking a First Aide class, I decided to take an extra safety measure after learning about tenacious in class. I went out and got my TDAP shot up-to-date just to be safe as I had severe jaw stiffness for nearly 3 weeks!! This seemed to have helped, and it makes me feel very unimpressed by him! It makes me wonder if he properly washes his instruments? It's now 5 weeks later, and I still have jaw stiffness albeit it is minor and hope it continues to improve. Again, I'm not impressed though because he saw the existing symptoms and didn't think once to ask if my tenacious shots were up to date. I'm a young adult, just learning about the world, did not have one since my mom took me as a small child! Very, very unimpressed. He was even worse when it came to cashing my check for what my insurance did not cover, and giving me information about the status of the check. The check I gave him took him over a month to cash, even though when I called his office staff it should take a maximum of 2 weeks. So I guess the check got lost, and by the time he found it and cashed it? It bounced because it was so far off from when he should have cashed it. I'm infuriated! I DO NOT recommend this physician!.
Wonderful experience! I was worried beforehand because there was no website or reviews, but my whole experience could not have gone better! Dr. Penn patiently answers all of the questions you have, and really takes the time to help you understand the process. From what I understand they have been in business over 20 years. Not only is the whole staff wonderful, but the prices are VERY reasonable! My wisdom teeth came out beautifully without a problem, and have healed wonderfully! I would highly recommend anyone to go here!!.
