I have two very accident proned, sports oriented, tween boys that have kept medical services gainfully employed. I have been to many different emergency across the nation and this one is pretty great. I had avoided using the base hospital until recently ... and now I wonder why. Last night, my son hit his head. Nothing terrible, but I wanted to get him check out all the same. We were quickly checked in. The waiting room was pretty full. But it didn't seem like anyone was sitting for very long. We waited about two minutes to get vitals taken and maybe 10 to 15 to be taken back. We sat in our room about 5 minutes when the doctor came in, examined my son and explained why he felt comfortable sending him home. He also explained research that supported what he was telling me. Additionally, he had no problem explaining all of this over again to my son's father. In all, we were in the hospital a little over an hour from intake to discharge - which is incredible. The discharge nurse was very kind and ensured we had all of the paperwork to explain what to expect..
Horrible horrible service. The staff was rude both times I had to come here me an outrageous waiting period. I sat in the waiting room for 4 hours while having an allergic reaction and was only seen for 5 mins. Nothing was done or given to me for the allergic reaction just sent home and told to come back if it got worse. I had swelling in the throat, eyes, and hives everywhere and a temp. When my husband came in to have his thumb set after a dislocation it took 3 hours of waiting and 3 separate staff members to come in and ask the exact same questions the previous person asked and didn't even come into the room to tell us the results she told us in the hall next to a screaming child only because my husband went to the bathroom and she saw him there. Walking in the room to check that the guy wrapping his hand did it right she didn't even look in the room, she just opened the door looking away talking to someone else then said "feel better? Good I'll finish your paper work" when neither of us answered her question before she disappeared..
