Best Dentist In City - Dr. Kalpana Kaveti, DMD

Dr. Anupam Gatecha, DDS

Gave me a bridge I didn’t need! My regular dentist couldn’t believe it! She knew my teeth well. This guy is untrustworthy and greedy! My heart still is troubled by this....

Dr. Yu Pan, DDS

Dr. Pan and her associates worked to make each of my visits as enjoyable and efficient as possible. Also, Dr. Pan would always speak with me to tell me exactly what the plan was and how far I had came. This is the best option in Edina!.

Park Dental Edinbrook

I couldn't get away from this place fast enough. I am a teacher and had been going to this dentist for about a year when my district enacted massive budget cuts. The moldy, stinky carpets, the wobbly, squeaky tables (which I've had in my classroom for ten years), and the lack of staff to watch the entrances and hallways of our school would stay in place - I told my dentist one day, feeling frustrated. It was more than just these things, I went on. The main problem was that more and more students out of each class are inclined toward rowdy, disruptive behavior and the larger the class sizes get, the closer a class gets to the tipping point of no-return. At 38, 39, 40 students, even the most seasoned teacher who is an expert classroom manager can get overwhelmed - I said to him. It was at this point that he scowled at me at said - "When I was in school, we had class sizes of 40 or more! And, we never had any trouble learning!" This was a dentist who is woefully out of touch with the modern classroom. A huge percentage of teachers quit in the first five years of teaching and never return. This guy just doesn't get it. I was so put off by his flippant comment, I changed dentists immediately. I couldn't get away from this place fast enough. To start this review off, this isn't really a complaint about the place itself, but rather a experience I had with a VERY unprofessional hygienist last month at my cleaning. For the most part, very professional people. Lucinda is absolutely fabulous, we love her. She's amazing. Doctor Johnson is me and my sisters' doctor and he does a very, very great job at what he does. He's quick and gets the job done correctly. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else for my dentist needs. This place is great and very close, which makes it very convenient for my father. I've had rough and rude hygienists in the past so I'm sadly used to it...for the most part it seems. I went in for a cleaning in June, and I had a different hygienist this time. I forgot what her name was by now, but I think my old hygienists' name was Serah if I recall correctly (I could be wrong.). She told me she was a temp and is filling in for Serah until Park Dental hires someone new. Alright, fine. Now here comes the fun part -- she obviously gets to work on cleaning my teeth and everything. It was hard to understand what she was saying to me most of the time and I had to make her repeat herself for a few times until I could clearly hear what she was even saying. Even simple things like "Turn your head towards me a little bit." was hard to make out. Okay. Not a big deal so far...so then she gets to the flossing and she is literally pressing down the hardest she can. I understand my teeth have tight spots but my gums can be very sensitive in those spots and I could literally taste my own blood coming from my gums from how rough she was. My mouth hurt before she was even done. Then she takes a different tool and starts scraping away at my teeth. I know what it feels like but as I said she's rougher than any hygienist I think I've ever had and I felt like she was just gonna start scraping away at my gums. It genuinely hurt, especially after the flossing I just got. I'm not even kidding. Then the cleaning is done, but she still has to give me the fluoride I did NOT want. So I sit there with this thing in my mouth and everything for like five minutes. Well obviously it came time to take it out, so she removes it and literally, I am /NOT/ even kidding you, she hands me the little suction tool and mumbles something I cannot understand and turns around and starts talking to another hygienist. As far as I am concerned...that is HER JOB. Not mine. So I am dumbfounded, sitting here with fluoride in my mouth confused as to what she wants me to do and she turns around and looks at me and says "Do you want the suction off?" so I quickly use the tool and hand it back to her and she mumbles something else and I had to make her repeat herself again. Seriously...? She couldn't even say "Follow me, you're done" clearly enough. When I got home I had to take pain pills because my mouth hurt so much. Being sore after a cleaning isn't unusual for me, but this time it was KILLING me. I was in PAIN. My mouth hurt the rest of the night, the pills didn't even help. I love Park Dental, but PLEASE...be more careful when it comes to the hygienists. I don't have dental experience, hell, I'm only 16. Buuuut...I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to be in such pain after getting just a CLEANING. So after that experience, I have to give this place a over all four star rating. I would of given it five if it weren't for that hygienist. But Doctor Johnson and Lucinda definitely deserve five stars, that's for sure. I'll see you on Tuesday Park Dental.
