The office itself is very nice, clean, and well-kept. The office staff and hygienists are very nice and gentle. However... I took both of my children here for cleanings and it was a great experience, I felt comfortable despite my personal dental anxiety. My son had a total of eight cavities that needed filled, fine I was expecting that. We got 4/8 cavities filled. My daughter had cavities as well and I was told that I needed to see a dentist that specializes in children. The name of the office they gave me was not in network with our dental plan, so I was back to square one of finding a dentist for my youngest child to see. When I was able to see a dentist that specializes in children, I was told the work that was recommended was not necessary and she only needed her molars filled. I decided we needed to find an office that would tend to both children I also wanted a second opinion after my husband took my son for his second filling appointment and brought up some concerns about previous fillings that had been done and were hurting my child and felt loose. At the second appointment, the doctor blocked my husband from seeing what was going on and simply told my husband "we will take care of it." To our knowledge, nothing was done and our son came out saying the tooth was no longer loose, after he had been telling us it was for 2 weeks prior to the appointment. I had asked the dentist if it would be better to just extract the tooth since they are "baby molars" and was told that he would have them for the next 2-3 years and a filling is necessary. At our second opinion appointment, I was told the fillings that were done were very large and one was already chipping (the fillings have only been done for a month and a half at this point.) I was also told that, the molars that were filled would be falling out within the next year. And the other fillings that "needed done" by this dentist, were not necessary since they would soon fall out and are not causing pain, and 2 of them being small and superficial. I was also told that my son had an overbite and would eventually need braces, which was never told to me by the dentist in this office. I feel like I spent money on fillings for no reason if they are only going to fall out within the year, after being told something different at Hershey Dental. I am disappointed in the taking advantage of a kid, and putting my child through unnecessary pain. And for what? So you could make money? Don't take advantage of people who already fear and have anxiety around going to the dentist. Needless to say, we will not be returning to Hershey Dental..
Neither 'Dr. Weems' nor 'Dr. Palwak' are dentists at this office... this is a single dentist office with the same dentist practicing for the last 32 years... 'Mark Weems' has his own (problematic) PPO dental practice but that/he has nothing to do with Houska Dental Center. Dr. Pawlak similarly is a PPO dentist with their own office - again totally unrelated to the fee-for-service (non-PPO) Houska Dental Center. Check Google or Yelp or ANY reputable site for reviews. This website obviously blacklists people to encourage them to buy their own business page to give correct information. None of these reviews are even from a single patient of the practice. This is just a scam site that runs on misinformation and blackmail..
Disappointed in professionalism by hygienists. Had an overall very bad experience here. Definitely won’t go back..
Dr service good... but appointment scheduling and wait time is horrible.Makesure to check waiting time before anyone goes inside otherwise they will take x-ray immediatly and Will keep you wait..
Dr. Shah has done a good job of explaining my treatment plan, and has followed through with excellent dental care. The office staff is topnotch---enjoy working with Brooklyn and Nicole..
Dr. Sikora is the best and the staff are super friendly and very nice!.
