I've been going to Dr. Long since I was three years old. He's the only dentist that I trust with my teeth. Due to genetics, I have really weak enamel. However, he treats me very conservatively, only doing what's absolutely necessary in order to save me from a life time of getting fillings redone over and over again. He cares very much for his patients and puts their needs first. He's very personable and easy to relate to, making the whole experience easier to endure. I recommend him to everyone..

been a patient of Dr. Varnell Gaines, since I was a little girl. I stayed a patient after all of the old patients complained and went to other doctors. People have talked badly about Dr. Gaines, but I've always taken up for him and continued to support him and his practice. For the past few years, I was charged incorrectly. My insurance company was charged incorrectly, and I let it slide! I went to Dr. Gaines for the same problem 3 times for the same tooth. The 1st time he stated that I needed a crown but he said that he didn't have time because he had to go out of town. So he called himself fixing it. The filling fell out. The 2nd time, the same tooth, he stated that I needed a crown, but then he said that he was just going to fix it because again he had to go out of town. The filling fell out again. He actually told one of his techs to turn the game on the tv while working in my mouth! I've never hurt so much in my life! What kind of professional watches a game while working in a patients mouth! I went the 3rd time in March 2023 because I was going out of town and didn't want my mouth to hurt. I was told to walk in, and I had to pay a $50 fee for walking in for a problem he should have fixed 2 times before. I asked that the fee be waived, but they and he said no! Bernice, the office professional, said that my mouth would be fixed that day. I went there at 11 am and after waiting for 4 hours I asked him, if he was fitting me for a crown, he stated that he didn't have time because he had to go out of town! I told him that I hole in my mouth he looked 60 seconds and said he didn't have time. I waited for over 4 hours just for him to tell me that he didn't have time. I asked for my $50 back, but he refused. He said that everyone had to pay the fee, I told him that the other patients were treated, but I wasn't. He also charged my insurance company for doing absolutely NOTHING!! Wait, he had the tech take an X-ray of my mouth of picture that he took the last two times from my last 2 visits. I am very disappointed in Dr. Varnell Gaines. He's supposed to be Pilar of the community. I no longer see him as that. He is too comfortable! It appears that he likes taking advantage of us because he thinks that we're so ignorant and don't know where to go! My experience was horrible, I was ripped off. His staff is always stating that he is booked, but it appears to me that they like charging $50 for walking ins instead of booking. I don't recommend this practice to anyone who has dental insurance!! I recommend this practice to anyone as he thinks we can't get any better and he treats us like we can't get any better. He had the audacity to send me a letter stating he thinks that I shouldn't return! I wasn't going back anyway! Just know GOD doesn't like ugly! He's lucky I don't sue him for malpractice!! I will be reporting him to the State Dental Association about his practice! I may contact 12 on your side as well because we no longer need to give people our money that does NOT care about our health and welfare!! You have to be mindful of who you do wrong!!.
WOW my special needs child had a tooth problem while I was at work and I was so upset. They had someone come to my house to get her and updated me about her. Above and beyond the call of duty. My daughter had went to Shores dental clinic previously and they said she would not let them do the work on her mouth, but she had no problem at Sky Jones dental office. This was a special situation and I lived near their office but I bless them for helping me in this emergency situation. Pick them for all your families dental needs..
