Best Dentist In City - Dr. Kalpana Kaveti, DMD

Lora M Mason DDS, PA

Never thought I would say that I enjoyed a trip to the dentist, but ever since I have been seeing Dr. Lora, I have enjoyed my dentist visits. I feel as if I am part of the family and treated like royalty. I have never experienced any pain. Dr. Lora does so much more than check my teeth. The mouth cancer screening is a big plus. Dr. Lora also alerted me to a possible blockage in my carotid artery as seen on the panoramic x-ray. After a visit to the cardiologist, it was confirmed as plaque build-up in my carotid. I have been on cholesterol reduction medication and get regular doppler screenings. This heads-up from Dr. Lora probably saved my life..

I'm posting this story after my friend came to me yesterday crying. Once you read the story, please tell me where is the justice. Dien Trinh, my dear friend and a dedicated dental hygienist. If you go here for cleaning, you would know her. She has been working tirelessly at this office for two long years. Now, the story begins where the office records hours manually in a book instead of using a computer system. Dien had trusted the dentist and the manager, never checked her hours and never suspected that her hard-earned hours were being recorded inaccurately until recent event. She was horrified to discover that when patients didn't show up, they deducted those hours from her pay and were recorded as "not working", even though it was not her fault. This office has been deducted an entire hour for lunch for her, even though she only took 45 minutes. Can you imagine the pain of realizing that her employer had been cheating her out of 15 minutes of pay each day for God knows how long? Not only did the dentist cheat her out of lunch hours, but they also failed to pay her for New Year's Day, which they promised to pay.... Not only that, this dental office, is a place of constant stress and struggle for a hygienist. I am a retired hygienist so I know how it is: Patients here are given only 45 minutes for a comprehensive exam, note-taking, cleaning, x-rays, and breaking down the room. This is a tight schedule that requires hygienists to work at a fast pace to complete everything in time. To make matters worse, the office only provides outdated- three tips for the entire day, even though they see eight patients or more, and uses hand scaling instead of providing enough resource and more efficient cavitrons like other offices. All of these factors make Dien's job much more physically demanding. Despite all this, my friend still performed her job with excellence but they completely did not appreciate her. Well, they said they did but her efforts are not reflected in her pay ! Mind you that all these deductions above were made without my friend's knowledge. And to add insult to injury, when she bravely handed in her two-week notice, on her last paycheck, she was shorted 9 hours of what she rightfully deserved. And when she confronted this dentist, Dr Mason, she was met with a condescending laugh and told "goodluck" when she said she would report to TWC, probably thinking that Dien's poor English would prevent her from doing so. This was a practice I never witnessed during my time as a dental hygienist. I have never seen such an abusive and unethical employer dentist before. The thought of Dien being subjected to this treatment breaks my heart. I hope that this office and Dr Mason will realize the horror of their ways and treat their employees with the respect and fairness they deserve and pay my friend the 9hours and the NEW YEAR day that was supposed to. If not, we will go to TWC and ask for the every 15 minutes that was deducted. .

Stay away from this place. Unorganized & dirty! Instruments are not clean properly. Crowns take a couple of months to get finished. Overall, scarry place..

My son has been been under BFO’s care for the last 7 years. We have never had an issue. The staff are amazing and are always so friendly and kind. Dr T and Dr Wadler are the best. I never leave without getting a warm hello from Dr T. My son is so comfortable with the staff and strangely, always looks forward to his appointments (he seems to overlook that it’s sometimes accompanied by a little pain ????). I would recommend BFO is a heart beat. We will so miss you once the braces are off. You guys are the best and have become like family..
